SRi Sponsorship Research International

Company History

Simply put, Sponsorship Research International (SRi) comes from experience — real-world experience — helping companies maximize and quantify the return on their event and sponsorship expenditures.

SRi was launched in Europe in 1993 — and officially in the U.S. in 1996. We've grown to become one of the preeminent sponsorship and event measurement agencies in the industry. And our story gets better.

In June 2001, SRi became a division within Velocity Sports and Entertainment. Then in 2010, SRi began lending strategic insights and consumer research expertise to new parent, Team Epic, formed by Velocity and Vivid. While SRi operates autonomously of Team Epic, the value of being able to track the pulse of the industry through the eyes of this new dynamic and progressive agency has proven invaluable to our clients through the development of more actionable insights.

JEFF ECCLESTON
Vice President, Group Director

As Vice President, Group Director of SRi, Jeff is responsible for overseeing and managing SRi's research programs and general operations. While at SRi, Jeff has personally managed and designed hundreds of custom studies for many leading sponsors as well as for leading sports properties and sports marketing agencies.

Jeff has nearly fifteen years of market research experience, over a decade of which has been dedicated to the field of sponsorship and experiential marketing measurement.

Recognizing the need within the industry for more actionable research, Jeff has been a pioneer in the innovation of new analytical capabilities. Through this innovation, SRi is helping clients go beyond basic scorecard measurement and understanding of what happened. These new techniques are designed to help clients gain a deeper understanding why things happened, how to maximize success, and assess who is most impacted. This yields more actionable insights and leads to the creation and development of more impactful programs.

The industry is calling for proof that sponsorship works. In 2010, Jeff was recognized by the editors of the Sports Business Journal with their annual "Forty under 40" award. As the first researcher in the award's 11 year history, the editors of the SBJ have recognized that we can now effectively evaluate and quantify sponsorship's return.

Jeff is active within the industry, speaking at industry conferences and sponsor summits, regularly contributing to industry publications and lecturing at Colleges and Universities.

Jeff received a BS in Marketing from Penn State University and lives in New Canaan, CT with his wife and two children. On the weekends Jeff spends more time at the hockey rink coaching his kids than at home. If you need advice on how to get kids up at 5am to go skate...Jeff is your man.
